Libby Brien Actress - Director Libby Brien has journeyed from her native Toronto, Canada, endured the hurricanes of South Florida to embrace the challenge that is "Hollywood". She is becoming a familiar face in independent films and has graced the screen in several independent features. She starred recently in the short film "Glamouriety" which was screened in the Tribecca Film Festival. Ms Brien is a versatile actress and has enjoyed a variety of challenging roles. Her favorite role to date was the feisty, Sheriff Char, in the horror film, "Dweller in the Dark." She also stars in the black comedy, "Again and Again", the thriller, "Last Saturday Night" . Her most memorable Stage credits include: "Piece of My Heart" (Mary Jo), "Sylvia Plath: A Dramatic Portrait" (Sylvia 2) and "The Woolgatherer" (Rose). Ms Brien has lent her voice to many foreign films (live actions and animated) recreating the splendid performances in English. She has also been heard on Radio; Mancow's Morning Madhouse, National Lampoon Radio Network; Joke Jams and The Politics of Terror as a guest Spoof Characters providing entertainment and controversy for the shows. Ms Brien's talents extend behind the camera. She earned her M.F.A. at University of Miami and has directed for both stage and screen. She has enjoyed critical success as a stage director throughout South Florida's professional theaters and directed a successful run of "Days of Wine and Roses" in Los Angeles. Film directing credits include "Of Major Arcana" and "Don't Close Your Blinds". She hopes soon to direct her first feature film.
