Marty Penate

Marty Penate has a BA in Film Productions following in the footsteps of her father, Robert Nelson who was a photographer and cinematographer from Illinois. He shot movies and pictures for the Army and developed his own pictures. Marty has written several books and scripts too. Acting is her main passion. Starting at the age of 5 doing neighborhood theater, she fell in love with acting. Basically, Marty has been acting her entire life. After graduation Marty went on to college, but had to quit early on due to medical conditions. She later married and had 2 children.She and her husband had a marketing business together. Eleven years later, her husband died and Marty went back to college to obtain a nursing degree. Marty took an acting class at the University of Central Florida (LSCC) and got the lead in the play, "The Glass Menagerie". The play received standing ovations every time and was rescheduled for a command performance run. Marty switched majors from nursing to Film Productions. Marty flew to LA and made many friends in the film business and even ran into Chris Rock on the Paramount lot! Being on stage many times in the East in the theater and now on film here in the West. She now has her hand in producing some films. While working on many things has taken her to many places such as Germany, Dubai, and India and the Cannes Film Festival. Marty Penate worked at the Cannes Film Festival and the Florida Film Festival.
