Jeroen van Koningsbrugge graduated from both de Toneelschool Maastricht as de Kleinkust Academie in Amsterdam. When he was still studying, he was approached by Theu Boermans for his first role in a play called Hamlet, that has also won the Gouden Gids Publieksprijs in 1998. After that, more plays followed such as Jeff Koons (by Theu Boermans), Hooligans (by Peter Pluijmaekrs), Vrolikstraat 26 Huis (by Marcus Azzini) and Leven in Hel (by Ramey Nasr). In the years that passed after that, he performed in the musical De Scheepsjongens van de Bontekoe (Peter de Baan) and plays such as Gilamesi (by Theu Boermans) and Orkater's De Kortste Eeuw (by Gijs de Lange). Jeroen gained public attention when he performed the role of Harry Peeters in a drama series called I.C., by RTL, in which he played for three seasons. Also, Jeroen performed leading roles in TV series such as Sprint and Koppels. And, he has been performing in the improvisation show De Lama's by BNN. Since 2008, Jeroen was regularly seen as team captain in the Dutch-themed game program Ik Hou van Holland. He played the leading role in television-series Iedereen is Gek op Jack by Talpa for two seasons. In 2010 and 2011, Jeroen won the Dutch coveted Zilveren Televizier Ster award. Between 2007 and 2010, Jeroen created some sketches for the television program Draadstaal by VPRO, together with his friend Dennis van de Ven. Subsequently, they came up with more sketches for another program called Neonletters by AVRO. Meanwhile, Draadstaal is being broadcast on television again. 2010, together as duo JURK!, Jeroen and Dennis released their debut album Avondjurk. The release of this album was followed by a Golden Plaat and sold-out theatre tour. In 2013, the album Glitterjurk followed, as well as a successful theatre tour again. In the meantime, Jeroen started to perform on the silver screen several times. He got the leading role in the film Links (by Froukje Tan). In 2010, Jeroen played in the Dutch film adaptation of Loft (by Antoinette Beumer), for which he received a Rembrandt Award for Best Actor. In 2013, he performed the leading role in feature film Hemel op Aarde (by Pieter Kuijpers). Also, he recorded the voice-over role of Moos for the Christmas film Midden in de Winternacht. In 2015, feature films De Surprise (by Mike van Diem) and Schone Handen (by Tjebbo Penning) were released in which Jeroen played the leading role. In 2016, Jeroen also played the leading role in the film Riphagen, directed by Pieter Kuijpers. This film was broadcast as a three-part series on television in 2017. In October 2017, Jeroen won the Zilveren Televizier Ster for best actor. Since 2014, he plays the leading role in the police series Smeris, of which a fourth season was released in 2018, for which he also directed some episodes. From 2015, he was also featured in the television programs Beste Kijkers, Bijdehandjes, en Lekker Nederlands. In 2017 and 2018, Jeroen performed in the Saturday evening show Oh, Wat Een Jaar, broadcast on RTL4. Furthermore, he was seen in television program Holland-Belgie and Is Er Een Dokter In De Zaal in 2018, broadcast by RTL. Also, Jeroen performed in De Mannen Van Taal, broadcast by SBS 6. This year, Jeroen played the role of Kootje de Beer in the theatre play 'T Schaep Met De 5 Pooten. He also played a role in the film De Club Van De Lelijke Kinderen. On the silver screen, Jeroen has pushed his boundaries on the international silver screen because of his role in the film Spider-Man: Far From Home.
