Callan McAuliffe (24) was educated at The SCOTS College in Sydney, Australia. As a teenager he topped the Trinity College (London) Musical Theatre Exams as well as variety of Drama Scholarships. He studied with The Sydney Theatre Company via Mr Alan Flower and Screenwise. These combined to open the door to begin his acting career in the USA, UK and Australia. In 2019 Callan plays ALDEN a series regular, on the global phenomenon, "The Walking Dead". He will also be seen starring as Taylor in the feature film "Summer Night" (Samuel Goldwyn Mayer). The Directional debut of actor, James Cross. Callan has just released his first fictional novel, THE HILL GHOST. Callan began his USA career in 2009 when Rob Reiner cast him as his romantic lead, Bryce, in "Flipped". Soon after this, Callan was cast by Steven Speilberg as Sam, in Dreamworks sci fi, "I Am Number Four". Baz Lurhmann followed in casting Callan as the Young Gatsby to Leonardo Di Caprio's lead role in "The Great Gatsby". In 2013, Callan also worked in South Africa with Samuel L Jackson in the lead role of 'Oburi' based on a famous Japanese anime, "Kite". In 2013, Callan was named a 'break out' at The Toronto International Film Festival for his lead role as the French Canadian 'Dominic' in the coming-of-age USA independant film, "Beneath The Harvest Sky". He is also the youngest winner of the international GQ Magazine's Man of The Year Award for "Breakthrough of the Year" - presented in 2013/2014 for his work in the Performing Arts. In 2014, he was named the Winner of a Young Artist Award (USA) for his role as 'Young Gatsby'. In the same year, he appeared in 'Homeland' as Tim (brother to 'Carrie' Clare Danes), and "Point of Honor" directed by Randall Wallace (Braveheart). In 2015, he starred in the Sundance award-winning "The Stanford Prison Experiment" and the lead in the UK film, "Robot Overlords", with Sir Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson. In 2016, Callan also played the lead in the USA film, 'Hacker', with co-star Lorraine Nicholson- the film opened the K Festival. In 2016, Callan also starred in the Australian bushranger epic, 'The Legend of Ben Hall,' as young bushranger, Daniel Ryan. The film was named the top Western filmed outside of the USA in 2016 by USA True West Magazine. (Filmed in country Victoria and New South Wales.) Callan has also worked in Australia with AACTA Award-winning directors Matt Saville (Cloudstreet) and Robert Connolly (Underground: The Julian Assange story). He played the lead in Franswa Sharl (Dir Hannah Hilliard) a multi-award winning short film which won The Berlin Crystal Bear at the Berlinale Festival along with another nine international awards. He also appeared in popular TV series "Packed to the Rafters" and "Comedy Inc". Callan holds The Duke of Edinburgh Award for outdoor survival. He continues to study Mandarin and plays 11 musical instruments. In 2014, Callan was appointed an Australian Ambassador to UNICEF.
