Havanna Hagans was born in the hills of eastern Kentucky. She grew up in a large family driven to succeed. At a young age she followed in her sisters' footsteps, picking singing and acting as her poison. She auditioned for her elementary school's speech team in fifth grade, and started making her mark in the entertainment industry. She competed through the Kentucky High School Speech League (KHSSL) in categories ranging from Extemporaneous Speaking to Storytelling, and won her first state title in 2000. As a freshman in high school, she showed remarkable promise when she became a finalist at every invitational and won four state titles at the Kentucky Educational Speech And Drama Association's (KESDA) annual tournament. Throughout high school, under the direction of Dustin Combs, she competed in Storytelling, Solo Acting, Poetry, Prose, Programmed Oral, Dramatic and Duo Interpretations, Declamation, Improvisational Duo, and earned more than 10 individual state titles. As a senior, she was part of the team that won the school's first KHSSL State title in history. Following high school Hagans put her acting career on hold to pursue a college degree in journalism that arose from an extreme interest and talent in writing and photography. In college she decided to expand on her high school dance team experiences and experimented with dance classes, training in modern, jazz, and social dance as part of her minor. She auditioned for the EKU Dance Theatre where she won the newcomer award in 2004 and later became a choreographer. Hagans' choreography was showcased every semester for the company's performances from the spring of 2005-2007. She also worked as the company's historian for a year and later the president. As a sophomore, she was spotted by Laura Hazelwood, owner and creator of Laura's School of Dance, and later was chosen to join the studio's teaching staff. She had her first taste of studio training when she decided to continue her dance education under Hazelwood, expanding into ballet and tap. She became Miss Knott County 2009 and competed for the Miss Kentucky title performing ballet en pointe, which helped earn her a spot in the Top 10, and an educational scholarship that she later used toward her Medicaid Nurse Aide Certification. Hagans' choreography has won platinum status at competitions and earned other dancers more than thousands of dollars in educational scholarships. After putting acting on hold for five years to concentrate on her college education, Hagans auditioned for The Paragon Music Theater, Lexington, KY, where she earned a role as a royal wife for, "The King and I." In 2011, she auditioned for the company again, under a new name, The Rep, where she landed a role as a teen and an adult in, "Bye Bye Birdie," with Executive Producer Steve Zahn, Artistic Directors Robyn Peterman Zahn and Diana Evans Pulliam. Hagans decided to take her career further in 2013 when she auditioned for John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center Cincinnati. After being accepted and completing her program in three months, she graduated and auditioned for Model Talent Management Cincinnati (MTM Agency). She was scouted by Amy Watkins and competed in the Convention Expo in Dallas, TX June of 2014. At the Model and Talent Expo, presented by Mike Beaty, she became the Expo Model and Talent Female Actor of the Year.
