Krista Tortora was born and raised in the rust belt of Northeast Ohio and currently resides in Asheville, NC. Acting was a later-in-life career epiphany, unlocking the most enriching chapter of her life to date. Krista began studying acting in 2013 and working in 2015 in film ( Ground Control (2016) , Little Sister (2016) , Believe (2016) , television Swamp Murders: Episode 409 (2016) , and commercials (Carolina Health Care Systems, 2015, Publix Supermarkets, 2016, Meineke Car Care, 2016, Waypoint Living Spaces, 2016, Citrix ShareFile 2017). While continually studying acting, Krista is writing multiple screenplays, works as a voice over talent, and is active in Asheville's jazz scene. As a kid, she did eight years of Catholic grade school, then made an awkward and defining transition to the mysterious land of public school. Surviving it, she set off to be the first in her family to attend college, earning a B.A. in Music & minor in Sociology from Kent State University. During that program, she took out a fat loan to attend the Instituto Gould in Florence, Italy - another defining period, but much less awkward and much more delicious. Musical projects after college include bands: Full Blown Kirk, Honeypot, Tokyo Shapiro, and jazz standard combos. With formidable student loan debt looming, Krista went back to school for an M.S. Education from The University of Akron. Krista's assorted incarnations include: 7th grade English teacher, singer, songwriter, audio engineer, training developer, development administrator for non-profit Corporate Accountability International in Seattle and Boston, and more. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Krista Tortora
