Grace McAlister, a Meisner method trained Actress and Award Winning Filmmaker and Producer, started her journey in acting and filmmaking while searching for a socialization opportunity for her young son and decided to try an acting class herself. She fell in love with acting and proceeded to take every workshop and class the studio had to offer. Since then, she has been in numerous award winning short films; as well as working in commercials and print Ads. Grace was born and raised in Malaysia as the youngest of seven children. At the age of sixteen, with only a suitcase in hand, she moved to San Jose, California. Later, she relocated to Tennessee where she completed high school and then attended the University of Tennessee (UT), Knoxville. While at UT, Grace was active in the University Community, participating in several student organizations, and serving as a Student President of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. After Grace graduated, with a degree in Industrial Engineering, she returned to Silicon Valley where she continued her Engineering career with premier high tech leaders such as Compaq, Hewlett Packard and ZOLL Medical. In early 2017, her son suffered a life threatening illness. An encounter on their way to the hospital, inspired her to make her first short film, The Present and the Passed, to convey how a routine traffic stop in a critical situation, could change lives forever. For months, she researched all she could to make the film a reality.
