Roland Reber worked as an actor in Bochum (with Zadek), Zuerich Essen (with Heyme), Dusseldorf and the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen after finishing his acting school. He wrote more than twenty theater plays and scripts as well as text and lyrics. Reber worked as a director in Zurich, Bochum, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Munchen, Kingston (Jamaica), Moscow and New Delhi. He developed the television series, "Die kleine Heimat" and worked together with Hanns Dieter Huesch with the Sueddeutsche Rundfunk (TV), Stuttgart. His first movie, "Du hast meine Seele gebogen wie einen schonen Tanzer" made in 1979 with the ensemble of the Bochumer Schauspielhaus (director / writer). In 1981 he founded the Theater Institut at the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and was working with this institute from 1983 - 1989 in the Ruhrgebiet (some well known actors were Jochen Nickel, Thirza Bruncken, Ute Meisenheimer and Carsten Lorenz). In 1989 he founded the Welt Theater Projekt (World Theater Project) together with the German, Jamaican, Mexican, and Russian UNESCO-Commission and was the artificial leader. Besides his works with the WTP he was a teacher for acting and directing in Moscow, New Delhi, Kairo and the Caribic. The essential parts of his work there were the inter-cultural aspects with cultural works as well as innovative techniques for actors and directors. Reber was cultural advisor to different countries and institutes. He received the Cultural Price of Switzerland and two times the Caribbean Cultural Price as director, author an d for the best work with the ensemble. He received the PRESIDENT`S AWARD for the best feature at the CINE 2000 Festival in Ajijic, Mexico for "Das Zimmer" (2000). - IMDb Mini Biography By: Petra Knieper
