A former lawyer from Texas via Washington, DC, Samuel Whitehill has received six ensemble acting awards: One from Filmfest LA for his role in Marcellus Cox's short film about race relations in postwar South Carolina, "Rolling in the Deep (2017); the second from Oniros Film Awards for his role in Michael Boston's short film about the tragic life of a method actor, "Dress Rehearsal" (2017); the third, fourth and fifth awards are from Global Festival Film Awards (2018); New York Film Awards (2018); and Independent Short Awards (2018), all for his role in "The Guitar" (2018). He was nominated for best ensemble acting award from The Monkey Bread Tree Film Awards (2017) for his role in "Dress Rehearsal." He was awarded Best Cast for "Dress Rehearsal" by the I See Your Awards (2018).In addition, "Rolling in the Deep" was selected by the National School Board Association to be shown in high schools and middle schools throughout the USA in conjunction with Black History Month, February 2018, and chosen by Badami TV to air on stations around the country on "African American Short Films" (Jan.-Ap. 2018). In his three years of full-time acting, Whitehill has played principal roles in approximately a hundred thirty films, TV shows, music videos and commercials. Since June 2015 he has been studying dramatic acting with veteran character actor Steve Eastin at the Eastin Studio, in Toluca Lake and Burbank, CA.
