She was raised in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Liz Anderson, a country music songwriter, and Casey Anderson, a car salesman. Before Lynn began singing professionally, she was a secretary. An accomplished equestrian, she retired in the 1980s and returned to another career of raising horses and participating in equestrian competitions.
