Maboud Ebrahimzadeh was born in Bushehr, Iran, to professional soccer player Mahmood Ebrahimzadeh, and Jaleh Ebrahimzadeh, PhD. After coming to the United States, he followed in his fathers footsteps playing soccer internationally from the age of 11, and later began studying medicine at Howard University in Washington, DC in 1999. He then turned his focus to theatre and film at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. While at Howard Community College, he made his first appearances on stage at the Theatre Outback in Picasso at the Lapin Agile directed by Sarah Wiggin and the musical Pippin directed by Susan Kramer. Ebrahimzadeh's first professional appearance on stage came shortly after at Rep Stage in Kasi Campbell's production of Hamlet. Now a familiar presence on stages in Washington DC area, Ebrahimzadeh has distinguished himself as an intelligent, and versatile actor portraying many roles in classical and contemporary plays. He is a Resident Artist at Round House Theatre and a staple of the DC theatre community. Ebrahimzadeh has earned critical acclaim as an actor throughout his career. In 2016, he won The Barrymore Award for Outstanding Leading Actor in a Play for his work in The Invisible Hand by Ayad Akhtar at Theatre Exile in Philadelphia. The production garnered 10 nominations, winning five including Outstanding Overall Production of a Play. He began working in the film industry as a Production Assistant, eventually moving on to producing, directing, and writing.
