Born and raised in Richmond Virginia, Tom made his professional stage debut at age 17 as Touchstone in Theater IV's "As You Like It" at the Swift Creek Mill Playhouse under the direction of his high school drama coach Bruce Miller. Upon graduating from the Collegiate School he attended East Carolina University where he majored in history and political science. While there he became one of the founders of the ECU Lacrosse Club, the Epsilon Alpha chapter of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and was also member of the Rugby Club and a Gold Jacket member of the East Carolina Ambassadors. He became involved in the theater department under Edgar Loessin playing Mr. Loach in "The National Health" and Mr. Dankle in "Marathon 33". Somehow, he managed to graduate and due to his stellar academics was only able to find a job working in his family's clothing business. After 5 years of selling clothes, he came to the realization that he was not cut out to be in the clothing business and was not even sure if he wanted to even continue wearing clothing. It was then that he decided what he really wanted to do was to become an actor. So he loaded up the Volvo and moved to New York City to study with the legendary Stella Adler. While still in acting school Tom got his first professional television part, as a NYPD mounted officer in Central Park on the daytime soap "Search for Tomorrow". He started his film career working uncredited on Oliver Stone's "Wall Street" and "Weekend at Bernie's". Eventually he worked as a day player and principal on every soap that filmed in New York and had the unsettlingly unique experience of being on the sets of both "Search for Tomorrow" and "Ryan's Hope" on the days they were cancelled... Along the way, he (as most actors are want to do) has held many jobs to support his passion. These jobs included bartending in New York City and at the Italian ski resort of Livigno, Italy, as well as working as officer and crew on many types of vessels both power and sail. He also has worked as a financial services specialist and held a series 24 license through AIG. As a certified advanced open water SCUBA diver he spent way too much time cleaning boat bottoms in Miami. This in no way qualified him to be hired as expedition support for the Cousteau Society, yet somehow he was, and worked for them for 2 years at their Los Angeles base. Once in Los Angeles, Tom studied on and off for 6 years with famed acting coach Vincent Chase. To make ends meet, he drove an emergency medical vehicle and was on duty during the LA riots. By sheer misfortune this was not his first major episode of civil unrest. Tom found himself in the middle of the Miami Super Bowl riots working on a RICO investigation in Liberty City. He was also in central Gothenburg, Sweden during the G8 riots and subsequently has become an unwitting connoisseur of civic disturbances. Between episodes of upheaval, Tom somehow has managed to work for Sir Richard Attenborough, Stephen Spielberg and Mario Van Peebles as an actor. He has also worked as a commercial actor shooting multiple jobs all over the US, Italy and Japan. Tom was hired as a first mate on a classic wooden racing sailboat in Sweden where he met his wife shortly after the racing season was over. She was impressed by the fact that he was working washing dishes for the restaurant chain that had sponsored the racing boat. Fully expecting that she had found the man of her dreams she was cruelly disappointed to find that he only cleaned dishes when he was being paid. Regardless, she followed him back to Los Angeles and has been with him through 22 years and 3 kids. Tom currently lives in cars, trains and planes, working and auditioning all over the United States. - IMDb Mini Biography By: T.Belgrey
