Jimmy Allen Woods was born in Sumter, SC. At the age of one he was in foster care where he was adopted by his aunt and uncle Dr. & Mrs. James R. Brown. Raised in Durham NC, Jimmy first took notice of performing arts in early childhood education participating in school plays. While in high school, Jimmy received awards in athletics and community involvement which later earned him the rank of eagle scout. While his interest in theatre never left, Jimmy studied under the instruction of Wendell Tabb at Hillside High. It was there where his love for performing arts grew earning him a bachelor of arts in theatre from North Carolina Central University.
