Jennifer Emett, born as "Marilyn Thompson" then adopted in Chicago, named "Mary Jennifer Horn" and raised in the San Fernando Valley by her adopted parents, Jane E and Walter L. Horn. Jane and Walter were from Chicago but met late in life, after WWII, in Los Angeles. Jennifer was married at 23 to Robert C. Emett and has retained his surname, the British spelling of Emett. In elementary school, was drawn to acting and took her first acting class at age 12. However, she attended Pierce Junior College and CSU Northridge, pursued a computer career, all the while thinking, "one day, acting will come". After raising her two beautiful daughters, Robin and Vanessa, she moved to the West Side of Los Angeles and attended Santa Monica College (SMC) to pursue acting. Her first debut was in "Arsenic and Old Lace" on the Main Stage at SMC. Jennifer also performed on various stages in the southern California area; Chicago, as "Hunyak", Oklahoma, Bark! the Musical, and You Can't Take it With You, as "Penny". and various other shows. She continues to volunteer for several of her local community theater troupes. Spending time researching the film and TV acting craft as a Background Actor and studying under the amazing writer/director, Martin Donovan, she began her film career. After taking on various short film roles and genres, she has now become a strong comedic, dramatic and improv actor, and studies under Keith Jefferson (from Django Unchained, Hateful Eight) as her acting coach.
