Billy Baxter was born in Ohio, grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and Seattle, Washington. He graduated from The Northwest School of the Arts, Humanities and Environment and attended Bard College and Columbia in New York, formalizing in an Masters Degree. After graduating he worked in Seattle exploding music scene making videos for Soundgarden, Nirvana and Tad among others. His feature career began as a gaffer on a micro budget version of Shakespeare's "Midsummer Nights Dream" at 19. He continued to be active with music videos while he also worked on Seattle TV shows and features. He moved to Vancouver BC and continued to help make larger budget features as a DP and gaffer.
