Lawrence Murphy

Lawrence William Alexander Murphy is an Australian actor, writer and producer. Lawrence was born in Lausanne, Switzerland and moved to Gold Coast, Queensland at the age of 5. He is of Irish, Flemish, and English ancestry. Lawrence moved to Western Australia at the age of 19 and completed a Bachelor of Engineering with a major in Civil Engineering from the University of Western Australia. After graduating and being employed by CB&I, he very quickly realized his life's true passion. He quit engineering and acquired an agent securing a series of TVCs in early 2016. In the same year Lawrence secured a lead role in Forest and Thieves (2016) as Little John. Shortly after he co-wrote, produced and starred in the film Feign (2017). At the end of 2016, he auditioned and was accepted into The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. In 2018, Lawrence co-wrote, produced and performed in Behind You along side Jennifer Bagg at the Fringe World Festival in Perth. He successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts majoring in Performance Making, which honed his skills as an actor, writer, deviser and director. Lawrence co-founded the production company Lazy Films with good friend and fellow student Oscar Millar in 2019. Lawrence has appeared in Break the Surface (2019), Checkpoint (2019) and Valuable (2019). In 2020, Lawrence will play Leonidas in Leonidas (pre-production).
