She received an MFA degree in acting at UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. After getting a BA degree from Ewha Women's University in Seoul, Korea, she came to the USA to study theology at Boston University. After 1 year, she transferred from BU to EDS(Episcopal Divinity School) in Cambridge, MA and got an MA degree in theology. However, instead of following her dad's footsteps to become a minister and do social work along with teaching, she flew to Los Angeles in California to become an actress. She has been found by a former Tony Award-winning Broadway show director and professor Mel Shapiro who was a head of Theater department at UCLA.
