Blair was born in Garner, NC; and was raised by that rural life along with his education in Raleigh. For college he went to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he acquired a degree in English, focusing on classical and avant-garde literature - especially Christopher Marlowe, Shakespeare, and Black Mountain College artists. These studies under those teachers at that small college by the sea formed his inextinguishable passion for writing.
