Matt Swales was born in Leeds on 11th August 1993. At the age of 7 he moved with his family down to Essex, near London. It was here that Matt found his love for acting by performing in school plays. Despite this passion for acting, for most of Matt's years in education he focused his attention on pursuing a career in marine biology. It was not until his place at University had been confirmed for him to do a degree in this, that he changed his mind and decided that he would never be happy unless he at least attempted to forge a career in acting instead. He then took up acting classes in London before successfully auditioning for a place on the BA (Hons) Acting for Stage and Media course at UWL.
