American actor Cory Michael Boughton was born in Dayton, Ohio to Jacqueline Joanne Boughton, a hair stylist and personal trainer and Harold "Bud" Boughton, an educator, college football coach and professional speaker with familial roots in Buffalo, NY. As a child, he grew up in Central Florida where he excelled in academics and athletics, mainly lacrosse where he received a varsity letter award in his first year. He possesses a great love for writing and has kept a daily journal of his life since childhood. A gifted student with a passion for performance, he had starred in many musicals and plays at an early age. He returned to acting in 2003 while living in Asheville, NC and spent the next several years focused on writing, stage work, independent film and TV. He was a double nominee and won Best Actor in a Play in 2012 at Breakthrough Theatre in Orlando for his performance as George Bailey in It's A Wonderful Life: The Radio Play. He moved to NYC in late 2012 where he began working with several theatre companies with prominent roles in productions such as Beautiful Soup Theatre Collective's off-Broadway revision of Moose Murders and as the grizzled detective in RadiotheatreNYC's Murder on Broadway. He has since had the opportunity to play a myriad of characters for TV and Film including Dutch Schultz in AMC's Making of the Mob:NY and most recently as Asa Candler in History Channel's The Men Who Built America Season 3: The Food That Built America.
