Geneviève Capovilla was born to a Jamaican mother and an Italian father in Padova, Italy. She was raised in England and is fluent in Italian. From a young age Geneviève showed a passion for performing and at 11 years old, in addition to attending an all girls boarding school in Sussex, undertook examinations for Speech and Drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Whilst reading Psychology at Westminster University in London, Geneviève started a successful international modeling career that took her to Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Cape Town, Sydney, Bangkok and Singapore. Her degree in Psychology and its insight into the workings of the mind, now proves to be an invaluable tool for her real passion: acting. In 2012, she appeared in the music video for the song "Latch" by English electronic duo Disclosure, featuring vocals from Sam Smith, directed by Ross McDowell and Ben Murray of London's Bullion Collective. The music video was first released onto YouTube on 9 October 2012. As of July 2020, the video has more than 325 million views on YouTube. Ben Taylor, who had worked with Geneviève in various TV Commercials in the past, directed her in BBC Sketch Comedy Cardinal Burns alongside Seb Cardinal, Dustin Demri-Burns and Patrick Baladi. In 2013, Cardinal Burns won "Best Multichannel Programme" and "Best Comedy Programme" at The Broadcast Awards. It also won for "Funniest TV Show" at the Loaded LAFTA Awards and had a BAFTA Nomination for "Best Comedy". Geneviève made her feature film debut in 2013 playing Maria Moulineaux in the sci-fi action drama Real Playing Game (2013) starring Rutger Hauer. That same year, Geneviève featured in Dalston, a modern drama short film directed by Michael Sugre. In 2019, IKEA launched its first Christmas ad. Geneviève starred in the "Silence the Critics" campaign, directed by prolific award winning commercials director Tom Kuntz. IKEA invited British grime MC, rapper and songwriter D Double E to create a special soundtrack, marking the first time the grime music genre was used in seasonal advertising. In 2020, The Christmas TV Ad brought home the Thinkboxes Award for TV ad creativity and 8 D&AD Awards. Geneviève stars alongside Golden Globe and Emmy multi-winner Jeremy Piven in British Comedy Film Feature "My Dad's Christmas Date" released for Christmas 2020, directed by Mick Davis.
