Mark Atteberry was born in Santa Rosa, California and grew up in nearby Sebastopol where his mother worked for a local newspaper and his father was a mechanic. Small town life and hard work on his grandfather's dairy gave him invaluable life skills but a move to LA in his late teens gave him his love of the Entertainment Industry. Mark began his creative endeavors first in music as a trombone and keyboard player where he played in numerous pit orchestras in Los Angels and the Bay Area. After making the transition to acting, he studied with many of the top teachers including Roy London, Ivana Chubbuck, Larry Moss and Vladimir Ilyin of the Moscow Art Theatre. Mark began his professional acting career in commercials and theater culminating in a highly acclaimed performance in Sam Shepard's "Angel City" in Los Angeles. Soon after, Mark continued his success with various roles in television including notable performances in "24," "Dexter," "Criminal Minds," "The Newsroom," "Scandal," "American Crime," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Grace & Frankie." His feature film work ranges from blockbuster hits like David Fincher's "Gone Girl" and Ang Lee's "The Hulk" to notable indies like the "The Future" and "Butterfly Circus." Mark's hobby is documentary and portrait photography. He did well enough at it that at one point he was voted one of the "Best Headshot Photographers in Los Angeles" by BackStage West magazine. And, in 2010 he was honored by the Photography for Social Change Foundation as one of the "Top 100 Documentary-Style Photographers." Mark lectures regularly on the topics of "Image and Type" and "Acting in LA." He has co-written several books including "The Working Actor's Guide to LA" and "The Stunt Guide."
