Ashley Comeau is an award-winning actor, producer, director and writer with over 15 years of professional experience. As a Second City mainstage alumna she wrote and starred in three theatrical revues which garnered her both a Dora and a Canadian Comedy Award nomination. She was named 'Best Female Improviser' from NOW Magazine's "Best Of Awards" and most recently won a Canadian Comedy Award for 'She The People'. Her comedy troupe The Lusty Mannequins were named 'Best of the Fest' at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, and won the 'Best Comedy Characters of the Year' Award from Phoenix Remix, UK for their show 'Uncommonwealth' in their debut year at Edinburgh Fringe. Two shows that she was an associate producer and a creative consultant on (It's My Party, TVO, Tallboyz, CBC) have been nominated for Canadian Screen Awards. Selected TV production credits include: Paranormal 911 (T+E), It's My Party (TVO), Haunted Hospitals (T+E), The Zone (YTV). Selected live production credits include: BANFF World Media Program Competition Awards Luncheon and Gala (Achilles/Brunico) Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival (TSCF), Worldwide Short Film Festival (WSFF),and the Big City Improv Festival (BCIF). She has written editorials for Today's Parent, CBC's Punchline and The Walrus Laughs. She currently has two projects in development, one about death the other about children. Ashley also directs! She directed the international award-winning comedy duo Flo & Joan's first two shows, 'Victory Flaps', and 'The Kindness of Stranglers'. She directed the Toronto Fringe hit musical 'It Girls!' (written by Emily Richardson), directed the weekly improvised soap opera 'Calm Springs' at Comedy Bar and the all-female sketch troupe Cherry Beach Comedy for their International Women's Day Spectacular. She has travelled the world both performing and facilitating improv and corporate communications. She even co-founded Africa's first international improv festival the Mama City Improv Festival in Cape Town, where she goes every year to celebrate the best and the brightest improv talent from around the globe.
