John Anthony Torres (JT or Jay Tee), was born on February 5th, 1991 in Manhattan, New York. He is of half Ecuadorian (from his mothers' side) and half Puertorican (from his fathers' side) descent. JohnTorres' love and interest in performing developed from classes he began taking while studying the flute at the Juilliard School (M.A.P.) program for gifted children. Wasting little time, John started performing professionally at the age of 13, playing at the once called- Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center; The Pied Piper Fantasy (2003), Conducted by the late- Lorin Maazel, composed by John Corigliano, where he worked alongside The New York Philharmonic and Sir James Galway, and played the flute in a commercial for VH1's Save the Music Campaign. In 2005, John began attending the Rudolf Steiner School where he was introduced to the world of theatre and Musical theatre. He starred in his high school plays and musicals alongside fellow schoolmates such as; Zoe Kravitz (Actress, Big Little Lies 2017), Anna Suzuki (Actress, She's Gotta Have It 2017) and Jane Stiles (Actress, Dom 2019). While attending the Rudolf Steiner School, John joined the New Generation Theatre Ensemble run by Jessica Litwak; where he performed and worked with actors and directors: Donovan Christie Jr.(Actor, Power 2018), and Emma Weinstein (Director, Candace 2017). John competed in the NYC annual Shakespeare Competition (2009) and won 3rd place, along with the Lisa Knoble Award. John then attended the Marymount Manhattan College where he focused on his BFA in performance with a concentration in acting. Once graduated, John worked as an Executive Assistant to Producer and Fine Arts Philanthropist Andrew Martin Weber from (2015-2016). John left his position and immediately began to hit the ground running in the Tv/Film industry. John completed work on The Perfect Murder (2017), as the innocent-looking killer, Diego Pillco. John then began to work on set with well known directors like Spike Lee (Director, Blackkklansman 2018), on She's Gotta Have It Too (2018), as Anthony Ramos' stand-in for the season. John also worked as a stand in for Vanditt Bhatt (Actor, New Amsterdam 2018) of Quantico Season 3 (2018), and completed Stand-in work on shows such as: Orange is the New Black (2018), Gotham (2018), Tales of the City (2019), Sweetbitter (2018), Power (2018). John then completed work for the short film Meditation (2018), where he plays innocent and troubled Antonio alongside Richard Pryor Jr. (Actor, Prepper's Grove 2018). John has also done some photo doubling work for Uncut Gems(2019) starring Adam Sandler (Actor, The Do-Over 2016) and for Vampires Vs. The Bronx (2019) starring Sarah Godon (Actress, True Detective 2019). John is now working on his first off Broadway production of "I Carry Your Heart"; starring alongside Dey Young (Actress, Pretty Woman 1990), Dana Scurlock (Actress, The Deuce 2018), Rebi Paganini (Actress, Un-Speak-Able 2018), produced by the Athena Theatre Group and directed by Cate Caplin (Director, Mating Dance 2008). Outside of his film endeavors, John does some commercial print modeling. He is the hand model for the Miller Highlife Beer Campaign (2017). He is the face of the Portrait Best Buy Campaign (2018), shot by Jason Madra; with a billboard in Times Square and other places around America. He is also the face of the SERV'D App (2017).
