Ronald R. Ringo, Jr., PhD, Actor, LSW, CTS, MAC, CST, TFTdx, is a native of Southern California, born in Encino and grew up in the western movie mecca area of Simi Valley . He holds numerous degrees and a Doctorate of Philosophy, in Counseling. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Social Worker since 1991, and has national certifications, as a Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), Certified Clinical Criminal Justice Specialist (CCCJS), an internationally Certified Trauma Training Specialist (CTTS) and a Loss & Grief Specialist. Ron has served with Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard units throughout the world. He designed the original Marine Corps' "Warrior Transition Program". Ron was featured in CNN"s News Hour program and in the multi award winning documentary film on trauma and war entitled "Between Iraq and a Hard Place," which has been on the History, Military and Discovery Channels. As an International Master instructor for ASIST, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, PAIRS, relationship Training and other programs he and his wife, Shirley designed, Ron has become recognized as one of the leading experts in grief, loss and emotional trauma. Ron has consulted as a military and trauma expert on feature films such as, "Hacksaw Ridge" and "UNBROKEN, Path to Redemption." He is affectionately known as the "Reality Doc". As a Marine, Police Officer, Educator, Social Worker, Counselor and Clergy, Ron's challenging life and experience has been the catalysis for his passion in "Life Trauma" healing and development of human potential. Through keynote speaking, writing, training and coaching, Ron empowers his listeners with innovative strategies for life balance, personal integrity, communication and "Energizing others with Hope." Ron's love of sharing real life through story and film has motivated him to pursue and complete with honors, his Master's in Fine Arts in Acting at the New York Film Academy in Burbank, CA. He enjoys portraying characters that have a message which will also energize and give hope to others. He longs to bring back the art of "the moral of the story" in film as his idols Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Robin Williams, Mel Gibson and others have. As an Actor, he wants to help others feel life is worth living and that all we have the ability to create the world we want, even during hard or hurtful times.
