After receiving his undergraduate degree in history from Towson University, Patrick worked as a middle school teacher for several years in Baltimore County. He later moved to Los Angeles where he received his M.F.A. in film production from the University of Southern California. There he produced and directed several short films including Coming Home, an award-winning short about a young man dealing with the unexpected return of his troubled father. After graduating, he worked in various aspects of production and post-production and has been nominated for and won several awards.
