Abbey was born in West Sussex and still resides there now. She started acting at a young age in a Drama group and, as she got older, she participated in every school production. During secondary school she was in the school's choir and also became a member of the LCS Steel Band, now known as Sussex Steel. Her favourite subjects were always Drama, Music and Art. Her interest in the Media Industry began after she studied the subject at GCSE and AS Level. By 20, she had completed a course in Level 3 Creative Media Production earning triple distinction results at Northbrook College.
