Douglas Dean is an English actor. He was born in Dover, but grew up in south-east London. Having compiled a long list of credits in provincial theaters, TIE tours and student films he made his TV debut in an episode of the hit BBC/HBO series 'Rome'. Since then he has continued to collect credits in feature films, award-winning shorts and documentaries, TV, voiceover and theatre. In 2019 he can be seen in three films slated for cinematic release: 'The Book of Vision', 'Curse of the Blind Dead' and 'All You Ever Wished For'. He is also one of only a few actors to appear in both of the first two seasons of the acclaimed 'Medici-Masters of Florence', sharing screen time with lead actor Daniel Sharman in the second season. Career highlights include a lead role in Terry Gilliam's 'The Wholly Family', which won 'Best Short' at the European Film Awards in 2011, and was subsequently (controversially) then excluded from the Oscar nominations in the same category. Dean speaks fluent Italian and has performed in various Italian TV movies and series, which includes having scenes with top Italian actors such as Pierfrancesco Favino, Ennio Fantastichini, Cristiana Capotondi and Filippo Nigro. He has several projects lined up for 2019, including his first stage appearance for 5 years. He can contacted via his agent. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Douglas Dean
