Aleida Torrent is an actress. Born in Barcelona, Spain, and trained in theater and the performing arts, her tremendous presence on-screen might come from the force of her early experiences. She's strong-willed and passionate, which has led her to focus on strong female roles. Aleida started acting at a young age and she's combined the study of theater, dance and other performing arts with her career. She studied at the Barcelona Theater School and played Ismene and the General's Girl in the school's productions of Antigone, by Sophocles, and The Balcony, by French dramatist Jean Genet, respectively. Aleida made her professional acting debut in 2005 by joining the top-tier company La Fura dels Baus - a Catalan theatrical group that performs urban theater in unusual settings and uses a mix of choreography, acrobatic feats in the vein of Cirque du Soleil, opera and other elements to break the wall between actors and audience. She also worked at the Liceu, the Opera Theater of Barcelona, for two consecutive seasons and was part of the ensemble in several of their operas. Her first on-screen appearance was on the Spanish TV Sitcom "13 anys I un dia" ("13 years and a day") in 2009 - she was selected for the role by Barcelona's leading casting director, Pep Armengol. In 2009 moved to the United States and start studying at The Beverly Hills Playhouse. In 2010 Aleida played the lead in the web series Front Seat Chronicles (People's Choice and Best Low-Budget Series Telly Award winner) and gave her, her SAG-Eligible status. She appeared in the movie "Caravaggio and My Mother the Pope" (2013), she worked alongside Jorge Garcia (Lost) in the film "The Lummox" and she played the lead role in the indie film "Neon Lights" by Lenny Porterfield, which she's now filming. Aleida has never stopped training to hone her skills, she also studied at the Ivana Chubbuck studio, work her audition skills with Billy O'Leary and Margie Haber. In 2014 Aleida signed with Jesus Ciordia, Antonio Bandera's manager in Spain and moved back there because she booked a series regular in a very popular Soap Opera "La Riera". She also co-star with Joel Joan in his sitcom"El Crac", and just finished shooting "Nit i Dia", a very popular thriller TV show that has been sold at the US.
