Kevin Cloud Brechner

Kevin Cloud Brechner has over 2500 film, television, theatre, radio, and music production credits, mostly as a director, writer, and/or producer. The genres have included dramas, comedies, live music concerts, talk shows, documentaries, pilots, sports, events, PSAs, commercials, and industrial productions. He has had experience directing single camera film and video, multi-camera television, and many live shows. He was a Production Manager overseeing two cable stations overseeing an average of 600 shows per year. He has experience in radio as a disc jockey, voice-over announcer, and in station management. His films and television productions have been exhibited at the American Cinemateque at the Egyptian Theatre, The Silent Movie Theatre, the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, the Tate Liverpool, the Pacific Asian Museum, the Pasadena Museum of History, and the Norton Simon Museum of Art, and have been archived by the Getty Museum, the Southern California Library for Social Studies & Research, and the Writers Guild of America, West. He also has a diverse background in both the arts and sciences. His specialties are the experimental analysis of social traps including the study of environmental resource management problems like species extinction, pollution, and over-harvesting, and the study of the flow of energy through human systems. In addition, he worked on a new methodology for animal experimentation called laboratory ethology, which combines the rigor of laboratory research, with generality of field observation. He has published in many professional journals including American Cinematographer, Film Month, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, and Advances in Environmental Psychology. and has taught at the University of California, Irvine, California State University, Los Angeles, Art Center College of Design, and Arizona State University..
