Sam Lorn is an independent filmmaker with many years of experience in the film industry. As an actor, screenwriter, producer and director, he is a pioneer in Khmer-American cinema. He has produced five feature films that bring modern Cambodian-American experiences to the big screen for diverse audiences. Born and raised in Cambodia, he survived the killing fields and emigrated to America in 1978. As a young man, Lorn settled in Long Beach, California with his surviving relatives. In 1991 he moved to New York City to pursue a filmmaking career. In New York he studied acting at HB Studios. He also attended the world-renowned New York Film Academy. He learned about all aspects of the film and distribution industry by working at Assembly Films, Screen Gems, The American Museum of Natural History, Shelter Films and several other independent production companies. As a director, writer, producer and actor, Lorn's feature film credits include: Little Patriot, Moving Target, Young Survivor, Manhattan Midnight, The LBC, and Lovesick. Lovesick, was realized with much help from Angelina Jolie. The compelling film tells a modern-day Romeo and Juliet-type-story with a Khmer-American twist. A young Khmer-American woman is forced into an arranged marriage when she falls in love with another man. She is faced with the dilemma of honoring her family and respecting tradition or following her heart. Completed in 2004, Lovesick is self release and in stores such as, Blockbusters, Sun Coast, Circuit City, Netflix, Best Buy, and many more. In October, 2007 Lorn founded Forlorn Films LLC. To date he has written ten screenplays. His latest film project, Bloodline, it will be available on InDemand pay-per-view August 2018. - IMDb Mini Biography By: AV
