Hernán Zin

Hernan was born in 1971, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied International Relations. At age 22, packed his bags, cameras and haven't stopped traveling all over the world filming documentaries and writing articles and books. War and poverty are the main subjects of his work. And the reason he travelled to over 40 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. In 1997, he wrote and shot in India the documentary "Calcuta, vida en la estación de la muerte" for Televisión Española (TVE). Since then, he has not ceased filming documentaries for his company Contramedia Film, based in Madrid, Spain. His latest documentaries are: "Villas Miseria" (Slum World), which premiered in 2009 in Odisea channel. This documentary describes the daily life of the slums of India, Argentina, South Africa and Kenya. In 2013" La guerra contra las mujeres" (War against Women) was completed. The fruit of a three-year shooting in Sudan, Congo, Ruanda, Bosnia Herzegovina, Kenya and Uganda, it is the first documentary comprehensively addressing rape as a war weapon.
