Walid Chaya is a Los Angeles based director/actor known for "Madam Secretary" (CBS), "The Blacklist: Redemption" (NBC) and his short film "Driving Ms. Saudi" which won Silver Metal for "Best Comedy Short" at the Asia South East-Short Film Festival and is in the festival circuit. His short is also an official selection at St. Louis Int'l Film Festival, Richmond Int'l Film Festival, New Dreams Int'l Film Festival, Dubmo Film Festival, Miami Independent Int'l Film Festival, Ocean City Film Festival and more. Walid is also a director and associate member of the Stage Directors Choreographer Society. He has a B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University, rated #1 School of the Arts by US News & World Report, and is an alumni of SpringBoardNYC directors program by The American Theatre Wing, founder of the Tony® Awards. Walid was born in Lebanon then raised in the DC area where he produced/directed over 30 productions, including the regional premiere of Disney's "High School Musical" Live on Stage in 2008. Shortly after, he moved to New York City and has directed nearly a dozen shows Off-Broadway while working at Actors Connection NY. Today, Walid lives in Los Angeles and travels between LA, NY, DC and beyond to act, direct and teach. In Los Angeles, Walid serves as the Program Director for Actors Connection and is developing new programs for actors on the west coast.
