Catherine Black is an award winning Canadian actress, artist and filmmaker. Catherine is a complex and extremely versatile character actress. Catherine goes to the deepest depths for each role, and is not afraid to look ugly. Otherworldly, edgy-cool, dark and strong characters are her forte, but she's also extremely nurturing, which makes her someone you should have on your side. She is vulnerable to a strength, and although she might get taken down, vengeance will be hers. Catherine is a leading lady, but as all her closest friends know, she's also a secret comedian and a very sharply funny woman. Black is a self-taught painter. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally. Most recently Catherine photographed and wrote about the journey of her large oil paintings traveling from her family farm in Fergus Ontario across the Old Oregon Trail to California. This was Catherine's own Westward Expansion. Catherine's acting career began in Toronto as Juliet at the Leah Posluns Theatre directed by Lewis Baumander. Catherine has continued to go on and perform in many award winning productions in both Toronto and LA.
