Paul Braaten grew up on a Farm, Close to Clive, Alberta. He helped his Father Darryl-Mother Pollyne and His Brothers raise Black Angus Cattle and Chickens. He played Hockey all his life, making it as far as an NHL Farm Team (Long Beach Ice Dogs ECHL). Paul works as a Pipeline Construction Worker installing Major Pipelines throughout Western Canada. He has made approx. 30,000 in each of the past Two years, which gives credence towards his belief that Acting can actually pay, depending on the roles He is casted in. Braaten was just cast in the role of "David" in the exciting feature being shot in Edmonton, Alberta in May of 2018. The movie is titled "Give and Take" and his role of David is Number 3 on the call sheet, meaning He has a substantial amount of Dialogue in this Movie. David is the best friend of the Protagonist in the Movie. This movie is in Post Production and will be entering the world of Film Festivals later on in 2018. "Ya when Faziel (Director) and Patrick (AD) offered me the role, I was extremely excited to tackle it, a Man with a strong moral compass in life who lives on the edge constantly taking chances with poor choices of associations, and thru his actions." "Needless to say, I cannot wait to get on set to get this movie completed, I have been studying my ass off to know the role front and back." Braaten continues to self represent Himself in the Acting industry, and awaits further opportunities to derive out of the Big Budget Horror Movie "Extremity" which was just purchased by Epic Pictures, and will have a theatrical release world wide later on in 2018. Extremity was just screened at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, which is a huge feather in the hat for anyone associated with Extremity, most notably David Bond and Corrinne Ferguson (Producers) and the Critically acclaimed director, Anthony DiBlasi. Braaten was extremely grateful and honored to be cast in His Role of "John Hainey" in "Extremity". While shooting a Commercial in Canmore in December of '16, Paul Caught wind of the Upcoming DiBlasi Movie Production and set his sights on landing a role. He submitted his self tape audition and then awaited communication. ''Oh Boy, When I got the call from DiBlasi, I was over the moon man, any time You have a opportunity to work for guys like DiBlasi and David Bond, You know your rubbing shoulders with Heavy weights'' Braaten was quoted as saying while giving an interview to Western Canadian E News. "The Set for Extremity was Fantastic, Really Creepy, Could almost feel the ghosts in the De-Commissioned Pysche Ward floating around watching me and the rest of the Crew, Just knowing the place we were shooting in, very, very scary place. It was an absolute pleasure in getting to know everyone on set, from the Boom Hand to the Producers to the Director to the D.O.P. , just an awesome Motely Crew of People with amazing talent to exude in the day to day operations of making sure this Film is as Good as Its going to get. My prediction is this Film is set to become a Cult Classic, and will be a huge success after its release within the Horror Genre." Paul was also recently cast as an Actor for his Second National TV Commercial in two months, (Dairy Farmers Of Canada) acting as a Hockey Player Drinking milk. This was a big budget Shoot and during the filming, Paul suffered a setback of frostbitten Toes, but managed to finish the commercial shoot. One of Paul's Co-Stars on the commercial ended up losing several of his Toes during the -30 C Winter Shoot. As devastating as that was, there is reason to believe the Co Star will eventually be able to walk again normally. Paul landed a supporting role as in Patrick Streven's Movie "Driftwood" (2016) as "Rob Johnson" an angry man who's dedication towards his cheating wife, ends with a culmination of violence in this hard hitting movie which was screened at Film Festivals in Canada, USA and Mexico in the fall of 2016. At the end of the Day, Paul has an absolute passion for Film and has His eyes set on gaining quality roles on quality Films and ensuring His Son's get to follow their dreams as well.
