Usuda Asami was born next door to Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture. She was spotted and scouted outside the famous Shibuya 109 fashion compartment store in Tokyo at age 15 and began appearing in magazines as a model. She began acting at the age of 19 in 2003 with her first appearance being on a TV drama called To Dad For A Summer. She played the role of Keiko in the serial. She was the moderator for the music program SUPERCHA! as she continued transitioning from modelling to acting including stage work.
