At the age of 18 he began formal training at WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts) where he received a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting. At WAAPA he developed a unique talent for accents and manipulating his vocal pitch and tone, and ended up being awarded The Australian Voice Association Award for Excellence. His notable performances at WAAPA included Joe Keller in Arthur Millers 'All My Sons', William Carslisle in Simon Stephens 'Punk Rock', George Wickham in Jane Austins 'Pride and Prejudice' and The Bridegroom in Federico García Lorca' Spanish folk Tragedy 'Blood Wedding'. Andrew graduated with his BA in acting at 21 and owes a great deal of credit and thanks to Teachers and Directors he spent his time working alongside. Prior to graduating the academy Andrew was offered the lead role of 'Kevin' in the ABC3 production 'Tomorrow When The War Began' Directed by Brendan Maher. Having completed classes he left WAAPA early before his graduating showcase to begin shooting. When he wrapped filming he then joined his graduating class to perform in the Sydney and Melbourne Showcase. Following its completion Andrew began production on the critically acclaimed Matchbox ABC mini series 'Barracuda' directed by Robert Connolly. Then in the following months Andrew went on to star in the Steve Jaggi Entertainment film 'Rip Tide', alongside Disney sensation Debby Ryan, in the Australian coming of age story.
