Scott McCord is an award-winning actor, voice actor and musician. Born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, he spent his early years performing and competing as a classical pianist, under the tutelage of his mother. His professional acting career began at 17 playing Matt in a local summer stock production of "The Fantasticks". He spent the next two years touring a sketch-comedy revue "Once In A Lafftime" with Second City alumni. After studying theatre at Toronto's Ryerson University, and touring Canada and the U.S. fronting various rock bands, his foray into Toronto's independent theatre scene began.He was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore award (Best Actor in an Independent Production) for The Qualities Of Zero. He was also co-creating new, innovative work with Toronto theatre companies Parallel Exit and Theatre Columbus. Scott has appeared in the studio films 16 Blocks (Warner Brothers), Shoot 'Em Up (New Line Cinema), and the Canadian indie films The Hive (2016) and Motel, for which he won a Best Actor award (B-Movie Film Fest, Syracuse NY) and has worked steadily in television - Lost Girl, Hemlock Grove, Murdoch Mysteries, Instant Star, Martin and Lewis (CBS), Whitewash: The Clarence Brandley Story (HBO), Common Ground (Showtime), The Other Me and The Famous Jett Jackson (Disney). He played researcher James Joy in the CTV Gemini Award-winning series The Eleventh Hour for three seasons. As an award-winning voice-actor (Canada Screens Award, Best Performance in an Animated Series, Justin Time) he is best known for his roles as Owen and Trent in the popular Total Drama Island series, and as Dan Kuso in Bakugan Battle Brawlers. Other notable animated series include - Ruby Gloom, Yin! Yang! Yo!, My Big Big Friend, Camp Lakebottom, Mother Up!, The Nut Job, Inspector Gadget and the upcoming Hotel Transylvania. Scott has made appearances at Armegeddon Expo (Australia, New Zealand) and Toronto's Fan Expo and Comicon. An accomplished singer and multi-instrumentalist, he is band leader and frontman for the rock/soul outfit Scott McCord and the Bonafide Truth. The band was nominated Best Artist of the Year at the 2010 Maple Blues Awards, and their eponymous album released in 2012 received stellar reviews and generous radio play internationally. In 2013, Scott founded Criminal Theatre with playwright/actor Rosa LaBorde. Their first production, True, made it's premiere at the Toronto Fringe Festival 2014, and saw two sold out runs and a remount that same year.
