Guido Quaroni is an award winning engineer, and 2 time film awards nominee, from Monza, Italy. Born on the 9th of November, 1967. He studied Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico (Poly-technical) di Milano in Milan, Italy from 1987 to 1992. While still in school in 1991, he designed and wrote the first version of "solidThinking", a "NURBS" based 3D modeling and rendering software for the NeXT platform. He won an award, for the best new application, in the "CAD and 3D" category, at "NeXTWORLD EXPO" in 1993. In 1996, Quaroni traveled to New Orleans, from Italy, to interview for a position at Pixar. He was hired, and started in January 1997 after moving to California. His first project was working on Toy Story 2 (1999) as a modeler, along with other tasks associated with that position. In 2000, he was promoted to sequence supervisor: simulation and effects for the movie Monsters, Inc. (2001) For Monsters Inc. he was tapped by the sound department for ADR work. What Guido did not realize was he was about to become famous five years after his first ADR work. The rest of the Decade saw him rise in the ranks at Pixar. During the early production stages of The movie "Cars' (2005) "Giudo" The "Iso Isetta Forklift" character was created, with the intent that Guido Quaroni should do the voice work. Early polling on the internet, after the first Cars movie was released had Guido as the 10th most popular character. His characters popularity has steadily risen to become #3, right behind "Lightning McQueen" and "Tow Mater"! And that's a close 3rd. The top two getting 15% ea., and Guido 13%. Quaroni, is now a Senior Tech and Lead person, on all of the projects he is involved with, at Pixar.
