Dontez Antonio Hood was born in Brentwood, Long Island, but he spent his first years of life in Indianapolis, Indiana, where most of his family lived. When he was 6 years old he moved to Los Angeles, California. He was in commercials as a child, and after attending Bancroft Jr. High, a magnet school for performing arts in Hollywood, he was certain a career in the field was in his future. With hip hop growing up alongside him, he was pop-locking and break-dancing in the early 80's and landed appearances in both Breakin' and Breakin' 2. Hip hop music and the flourishing culture had more of an influence of him than acting. In the early 90's he joined forces with his good friends and fellow emcees: Kikuo "Key-Kool" Nishi, Daniel "Dannu" Reyes Jr, James "LMNO" Kelly, Alex "2Mex" Ocaña and DJ Nazareth "Rhettmatic" Nirza of the World Famous Beat Junkies, to form The Visionaries. In 1995, they made their official appearance on Key-Kool & Rhettmatic's "Kozmonauts" album. Their song "Love (Hip Hop)" was on the soundtrack of Ocean's Twelve (2004). After several years making music and touring he was bit by the acting bug once again, making supporting appearances in films, TV shows, commercials and music videos, as well as features in The Alexanders, a short film released in 2014. - IMDb Mini Biography By: TH
