Actress Trina LaFargue (pronounced LA FARG) recently co-starred as Mya, Haley Lu Richardson's sassy best friend in director Justin Baldoni's romantic drama, Five Feet Apart. Ever the sassy one on camera, she recently booked the role of Yolanda in Claws, and she had the recurring role of Latisha on the Queen Sugar series on the OWN network. A native of New Orleans with Creole ancestry, LaFargue was always the performer in her family. Early on, she gained an appreciation for Broadway theater, and after graduating from the Big Easy's St. Francis Cabrini High School, she attended Barbizon Modeling and Acting. At a major talent competition in which contestants walked a runway and performed a commercial, LaFargue was a standout - writing a funny original commercial about a type of duct tape that could cure her father's snoring. She then scored an agent, and has been working ever since. Her first major assignment was the part of kidnap victim Naomi on an episode of Breakout Kings. She was particularly excited about working with actor Omari Hardwick, who played the villain. LaFargue's additional television series credits include: Scream: The TV Series and NCIS: New Orleans. She made her feature film debut as the Latino Girl in director D.J. Caruso's drama, Standing Up, and she has also appeared in On Angel's Wings, My Father Die, and, upcoming, The Perfect Date. LaFargue admits that she brings a lot personality and energy to her film and television roles. "My acting coaches call me Spitfire," she says. When she isn't performing, LaFargue likes to draw, meditate and go to the movies. She also enjoys working with children, and she occasionally does career counseling. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Steve Rubin
