She is known for her series recurring roles as Mary Joe in Netflix/CBC's critically acclaimed Canadian television series Anne with an E (2017-2019) and Daphne in Freeform's #1 rated network show The Bold Type (2017-2019). Growing up with a background in theatre but a love for the screen, she made the transition to film and television acting with roles in national television commercials and feature films. Fresh off the set of Academy Award nominees Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala's (Goodnight Mommy, 2014) newest horror film The Lodge (2019), which had its premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, Katelyn had the pleasure of working alongside industry-veterans Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road), Richard Armitage (of The Hobbit series), Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) and Jaeden Martell (IT: Chapters 1 +2). Katelyn began her career most notably by playing a teenager in therapy in the Hit ABC Family Channel Original movie Cyberbully (2011), alongside Disney Channel and Hannah Montana alum Emily Osment, as well as fellow seasoned Canadian actress Kelly Rowan, of The O.C. success. Katelyn has also had the pleasure in working alongside critically acclaimed Canadian Directors Charles Binamé (Cyberbully, Maurice Richard) and Don McKellar (The Grand Seduction, The Red Violin), as well as international talent and Best Director nominee for the British Independent Film Awards, Lenny Abrahamson (Room, Frank) and Oz Perkins (Legally Blonde, Star Trek, The Blackcoat's Daughter). In September of 2015 Katelyn attended the Toronto International Film Festival to debut the international screenings of director Oz Perkins' The Blackcoat's Daughter (previously known as February), starring Emma Roberts (American Horror Story) and Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men), as well as the highly anticipated Oscar-nominated film and winner of the Grolsch People's Choice Award Room (2015), directed by Lenny-Abramson. Based off of the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name, Room, written by Irish-Canadian author Emma Donoghue stars Brie Larson (21 Jump Street, Short Term 12), Joan Allen (The Notebook, The Bourne Supremacy), and William H. Macy (Fargo, Shameless). Katelyn later made her return to the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017 to promote her new series Anne with an E, and talk all things acting in her new principal role for Lifetime's The Psycho She Met Online (2017). Graduating high school with a Fine Arts degree in Theatre, Katelyn went on to study at Ryerson University majoring in Radio and Television Arts, and minoring in English, a degree for which she graduated from in June of 2017. As a rising starlet with experience alongside some of the most talented and influential actors and directors in the industry, it is clear Katelyn's star can only shine brighter in a career she promises has only just begun! - IMDb Mini Biography By: Katelyn Wells
