Shila Vosough Ommi is an actress, director, writer and producer who was born in Tehran, Iran, and grew up in Los Angeles. Ommi plays the co-lead role of Yasmin in the Apple TV series 'Little America', written by Lee Eisenberg (The Office, Good Boys) and Emily Gordon (The Big Sick), starring opposite Shaun Toub (Iron Man, Crash, Homeland). Her feature film debut was in 'Charlie Wilson's War', opposite Amy Adams and she starred in the award winning film, 'Liberation', where she played the role of Empress Farah Pahlavi, opposite Navid Negahban (Aladdin, Homeland). Ommi is directing, for the stage, her Persian adaptation of Neil Simon's 'Plaza Suite', produced by her theatre company, Turquoise Heart Productions. For over a decade Shila toured the globe as the lead actress and co-artistic director of Workshop '79, a theater company spearheaded by the acclaimed Iranian playwright/actor/ director Houshang Touzie (Argo). A graduate of UCLA, Ommi received a Departmental Honors for a 'Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology' minoring in Biology, where she wrote a published thesis on 'Parental Investment Among Vervet Monkeys.' She later attended the Ruskin School of Acting where she studied under the tutelage of Sir Anthony Hopkins.
