Murphy Cross, a 2007 Tony Award-Winning Producer/Director/Co-Creator of the multi-award winning "Jay Johnson: The Two and Only", was born June 22, 1950 in Havre de Grace, MD. She studied dance with Bobbi Smith and holds a BFA in Dance from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. After performing on Broadway (1970's and '80's) in "Bubbling Brown Sugar", Pal Joey", "Division Street" and the original production of "A Chorus Line", she co-starred with Lee Remick in "Torn Between Two Lovers" and guest starred on many other television shows including "Cheers", "Night Court" and a celebrated two part episode of "Taxi" playing Louie's blind blind date. She is also know for her film characterizations in "Annie", "Perfect" and "Victim of Love". Murphy's extensive choreographic credits include: TV's "Roseanne", "The Garry Shanding Show", "Howie Mandel's Summer Special" and "Deadwood". She has directed and/or choreographed dozens of theatrical productions across the country. As a partner in Tony Award-Winning WetRock Entertainment she continues to develop theatrical events for stage and screen that inspire.
