Andy was born in Trinidad, raised and educated in Canada, and through his acting gained citizenship in the United States. He has an MFA in acting from York University. He also graduated from the Producers Lab at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto. Acting has allowed him to live in New Zealand (Mysterious Island), during which time he was able to check off his #1 trip destination - Fiji! Seeing black people in the South Pacific was a trip! It felt like he was home in the Caribbean, except for the thatched roofs and men wearing skirts...and the native tongue, of course. Acting has also given him the good fortune of living in Vancouver and Los Angeles in addition to his home base of Toronto.
