Ryan King

Ryan King is an award winning actor, writer and improviser. He graduated from The Second City Chicago's Improvisation & Comedic Acting program and has since studied script analysis at the Nashville Acting Studio, sketch comedy with Kevin McDonald of the Kid's in the Hall and screenwriting with Michael C. McCarthy. As a main stage cast member for Third Coast Comedy Club, he was coached by Grant Collins of Improv Olympic (Chicago) and Erica Elam of Second City (Chicago). His father graduated from West Point and Vanderbilt before working as a consultant, an apparel executive and finally as a video production teacher. His mother grew up in Brazil and moved to the states where she graduated from University of Georgia before working as a Spanish teacher. Ryan is the middle of three sons and spent his childhood growing up in Tennessee, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Illinois. He and his brothers began to write and film their own sketch comedy while still in elementary school and continued to do so through high school. Ryan took an early interest in music and has played both drums and guitar for bands that played with national touring acts such as Chevelle and Machine Head.
