Jelena Milinkovic was born in Bosanska Gradiska to a Serbian father and Croatian mother. She spent her early childhood living in Croatia shortly before moving to Serbia where she learnt to speak the language fluently. Jelena and her family made the move to Adelaide, Australia as refugees in 1999. They became Australian citizens in 2001. Throughout her teens Jelena participated in multiple acting courses, mainly those at Actors Ink where she first learnt the art of Acting. She continued to study and perfect her craft throughout her time in Adelaide before making the move to Sydney, Australia to study full time at Screenwise School of Film & Television in 2014.
