Canadian born Christopher Shyer hails from Downsview, Ontario. The youngest of 6 children, Shyer spent years working in theater before making his television debut playing the neighborhood tom cat handyman in a Canadian soap called Riverdale (1997). In the following year he starred in the feature film The Falling at the Toronto International Film Festival. Christopher has guest starred on numerous hit television shows on most of the major networks, including "CSI", "The Practice" and "NCIS", and had series regular roles on CTV's hit series "Whistler", ABC's "The Days" and most recently ABC's "V". Shyer also played the leading role aside Alec Baldwin and Jill Hennessy in the Emmy and Golden Globe winning miniseries "Nuremburg". Christopher's favorite starring role was in the ABC TV Movie "Phenomenon 2", based on the feature film "Phenomenon" starring John Travolta. Christopher is a series regular on Gemini Award winning writer/director Ken Finkelman's "Good Dog." Shyer's film credits include a co-starring role aside Diane Lane and Donald Sutherland in Lionsgate's Fierce People directed by Griffin Dunne, and supporting roles with Andy Garcia in Warner Brother's "Lazarus Child", and alongside Angelina Jolie in 20th Century Fox's Life or Something Like It. Christopher has just wrapped a role as Richard Nixon in the Clint Eastwood/Warner Brothers feature film "J. Edgar", alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. In September 2007, he made his Broadway debut in "Mamma Mia!" as Sam Carmichael, a role later performed by Pierce Brosnan in the film version of the hit musical. Christopher also played Dean Newhouse in "Going Down Swingin" for the NY Music Theater Festival that same year. A long-time student and friend of acclaimed director and teacher Larry Moss, Shyer has also studied with Lesly Kahn in Los Angeles and Deena Levy in New York. Christopher was a co-producer of the Shocking Buckwheat Pictures award-winning short "Awkward" in 2008 and recently produced "Stupid Chainsaw Tricks" for the 2010 Crazy 8s Film Fest.
