Simon is a graduate from The Actors Centre and Australian Film, Television and Radio School in Sydney since 1994, working in film, television and theatre. His most recent acting credits include, Alex and Eve, directed by Peter Andrikidis, ABC's Janet King Series 2, SBS's The Principal, Australia Day, directed by Kriv Stenders and the upcoming features Akoni, directed by Genna Chanelle Hayes, The Combination Redemption, directed by David Field and George Basha and Sequin In A Blue Room directed by Samuel Van Grinsven. Simon also owns Simon Shepherd Productions, dedicated to making unique and diverse stories for the screen. He is a writer, director, producer and editor of various award winning short and feature films. Prison Apolonia (1995), won Best Film and sound at the "Watch my Shorts" Melbourne International Short Film Festival in 1995. Top of the Town (1997), won Best Actor (Simon Elrahi) and Best Supporting Actor (Darryl Cooper) at the "Watch my Shorts" Melbourne International Short Film Festival in 1997. Be In It (2007), was entered into the inaugural SPAA fringe and Avid Australia's fast flicks competition in 2008, and in association with SPAA fringe and Avid Australia it went on to win the Special Jury Award at Rutger Hauer's, Milan International Short Film Festival, "I've Seen Films" in September 2008 and is now distributed by Ouat Media in Toronto, Canada. His recent film Flow, a 42-minute drama won Best Film for Simon Elrahi and Best Actor for Osamah Sami and nominated for Best Director and Best Drama for Simon Elrahi at the 2017 inaugural Sydney Indie Film Festival. It has also won the Award of Excellence at the 2018 indie-Fest Film Awards, Best Shorts Competition and Accolade Global film Competition. It also won Best Drama at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards. It also won the Panavision Australia 2017, Best Film Award at the Lebanese Film Festival (Australia). Simon has written various feature films which are all in different stages of production and development... Understanding Anatomy (feature film) has had two rounds of development funding from the New South Wales Film and Television Office, the now Create New South Wales.
