He was born to horse trainers, Teresa Marie Hicks and Juan Domingo Gallegos. His mother is from Kingsville, Ontario and his father is from Monte Grande, Argentina. Jesse attended Louisiana College in 2010, playing basketball and studying acting. He was a part of the first Improv group in Alexandria, Louisiana.
